The Metis Community Liaison Department assists Métis individuals, families and Elders to find services and resources in their communities: locally, regionally and provincially.
Client & Family Support – working with Métis children and families on a variety of issues such as employment and income assistance, parenting skills, outreach services, refferal & advocacy, reunification, Elder support, income tax, repatriation, Christmas celebrations, and community development.
This program, supported by fundraising and individual donations, helps families in need of financial support with expenses involved with the loss of a Métis loved one.
Metis Senior Vision Care Initiative
This is a program to aid those Métis Seniors that require assistance in managing their eye care by arranging eye examinations and ordering prescription eyeglasses.
Prescription Drug Program
This program’s initiative pays for Pharmacare eligible prescription drugs. The Metis Community Liaison Department is responsible for the application process. Learn more

A parent-child program with three strands: Métis Culture & History, Family Literacy & Essential Skills.
Triple P Parenting Program
A parenting program that aims to promote children’s behaviour in a constructive & non-hurtful manner.
This program is a Healthy Baby Program. Parents from all cultures are welcome. The program provides the opportunity to hear a topic, enjoy a healthy snack, meet other parents or parents-to-be. Parents can learn more about the Manitoba Prenatal Benefit as well as have access to a public health nurse and nutritionist with respect to questions and concerns for pre and post-natal health. The Little Moccasins site is located at the Windsor Park United Church (1062 Autumnwood Drive) and Accès–Access Saint-Boniface (170 Goulet Street). The Program runs every Thursday alternating between the two locations.
Circle of Security Parenting (COSP)
This is an 8-week attachment based parenting program. If offers the opportunity to self-reflect and think about parenting in a different way.
A parenting program for parents of children from birth through age five. It helps parents to recognize their strengths and to find positive ways to raise healthy, happy children.
Super Dads Super Kids
An interactive activity program for dads and the children they are raising. This program takes the position that when dads and kids are put together, good things happen!
Without the commitment and dedication of the MMF Board of Directors lobbying the provincial and federal government, programs such as the MCLD would not be a reality. Through the successes of our program brought about by your financial assistance and support, we have been able to progress and provide quality and culturally appropriate services to our Metis children, families and elders at the local level across the province.
