Winnipeg, MB in the Homeland of the Métis Nation – The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) would like to invite you to join us in a virtual fireworks celebration at 8PM and midnight tonight for New Year’s Eve!
We will be showcasing the fireworks display from the MMF’s July 15, 2020 celebration of the 150th anniversary of Manitoba officially becoming the fifth province to join the Dominion of Canada. Celebrate with us as we ring in the New Year with Métis pride in the diverse and beautiful province that we helped build.
You are invited to watch the virtual fireworks celebration on the MMF website (www.mmf.mb.ca) as well as the MMF Facebook page. Let’s bring the Métis Nation together to reflect on the challenges of the past year and prepare for the blessings that 2021 will bring.
The MMF is also thrilled to announce that we will hosting a special television event airing a Traditional Métis New Year’s Celebration from 12-1pm tomorrow for New Year’s Day. Tune into CTV or the MMF website (www.mmf.mb.ca) to bring in 2021 with the Métis Nation – socially distant, but together in spirit.
The TV special will feature Métis customs, culture and music including:
Gilles Beaudin – Facilitating the Gun Salute
Linda St. Cyr – Showcasing a traditional Métis meal and story telling
Laurel Blais – Demonstrating the Horse and Sleigh ride tradition
